Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston (CBHPW), the leading real estate company in the Triangle area, recently announced the appointment of Matthew Horton as its Director of Marketing. Horton will lead and develop strategic marketing initiatives to support the company, its divisions and its more than 900 real estate agents and professional staff.

Horton brings more than 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, branding and advertising to his new position. Most recently, he worked at General Growth Properties in Durham as its North Carolina Field Marketing Manager overseeing marketing efforts at its retail mall environments including The Streets at Southpoint in Durham and Four Seasons Town Centre in Greensboro. In that position, he managed digital and social media campaigns and executed onsite events to support tenant traffic and sales. Prior to that position, he served as the Associate Director of Corporate Marketing for Plaza Associates, Inc. in Raleigh where he managed tenant relations, coordinated and executed special events and oversaw branding and marketing campaigns. Horton began his sales and marketing career with the Carolina Hurricanes as a Client Relations Representative.

Horton earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee. His hobbies include participating in triathlons, training for Ironman Louisville, playing hockey and cheering on his former employer, the Canes. He and his wife, Stephanie, have a young daughter.
