Community Blood Center of the Carolinas Is Making May a Month to Remember

Bookmark and Share Charlotte, NC - May 12, 2014 -

In the spirit of Memorial Day, the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) will be remembering fallen heroes during the month of May through blood donations.

As part of its “Remember” program, CBCC is encouraging the community to donate blood in memory of someone who laid down their life for others. Donors can also post their donation photos and share a story about the person on CBCC’s Facebook page and Twitter feed at: www.Facebook.com\BloodCenter and www.twitter.com/CBCCarolinas.

“Bringing our communities together to donate blood is a noble way to honor our fallen heroes,” said Martin Grable, president and CEO of Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. “These men and women gave their lives trying to protect ours. By giving blood, we can honor them by becoming lifesavers ourselves.”

For businesses, civic organizations and churches interested in hosting a blood drive with CBCC, call Kim Jones, director of sponsorship development, at 704-972-4727. Those interested in donating blood can do so at one of CBCC’s donor centers or at a community blood drive www.carolinadonor.org.
