Dave Krasnow Joins Nexsen Pruet in Raleigh; Further Strengthens Firm’s IP Capabilities

Patent attorney Dave Krasnow has joined Nexsen Pruet as a Member and will practice in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in Raleigh, NC.

Krasnow, who has nearly three decades of intellectual property experience, focuses his practice primarily on chemical patents. He has represented clients in virtually every aspect of patent issues – from due diligence to rendering opinions to litigation – and is well versed in invalidity and infringement as well as intellectual property and valuation matters in complex merger, acquisition, divestiture, and initial public offering activities.

Krasnow provides counsel on patents involving polymer chemistry, inorganic chemistry, optics, ocular science, pharmaceuticals, industrial gases, raw and specialty chemicals, coatings, refractory materials, material deposition, and medical devices.

His background includes working as in-house counsel for Bausch & Lomb, Inc., and practicing with firms in the Carolinas, New York, and Washington D.C. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Georgia as well as the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the United States District Courts of Virginia and North Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit.

Krasnow is active in a number of professional organizations and is the Founder and two-time Past President of the Triangle Intellectual Property Law Association in Raleigh. He has also served as a past Director of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

In 2010, he was listed in Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite Hall of Fame in the category of Intellectual Property. He has also been named a Global Intellectual Property Luminary by IP World.

Krasnow earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Southampton College in New York and a law degree from George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia.
