Easter Seals UCP Charlie Gaddy Center for Children Celebrates Graduates
A very special graduation ceremony was held at the inclusive Easter Seals UCP Charlie Gaddy Center for Children in Raleigh on Friday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. Five students with and without disabilities received their diplomas and bid goodbye to the Gaddy Center as they and their families prepare for their transition into the public school system next Fall. Center Director Pam Ray welcomed family members and other guests to the ceremony and recognized special guest Charlie Gaddy, the retired WRAL-TV 5 News Anchor for whom the Center is named. Gaddy has been an Easter Seals UCP volunteer for over three decades and he and his wife Nancy are frequent guests at the Center.
The graduation program, which was held outdoors in the playground area, included three vocal performances by the children who attend the Gaddy Center, and refreshments were served to guests at the conclusion of the ceremony.
