Event connects families with providers of services for children and adults with special needs.

Easter Seals UCP (United Cerebral Palsy), a nonprofit serving children and adults with disabilities, will host a Community Connections event on Saturday, May 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Park in Charlotte. This free event helps families and caregivers navigate and learn more about the disabilty and special needs services available in the community. Agencies, in addition to Easter Seals UCP, that offer specialized therapies, community services, living options, educational support, employment assistance and special needs equipment will be in attendance to provide information and answer questions.

“When someone you love has special needs, it’s hard to know where to turn, what you need and what you have to do,” said Lennie Latham, program supervisor, Easter Seals UCP. “This is our 2nd year bringing service providers throughout Mecklenburg County together to help families navigate through the maze of services that can offer hope.”

A family-friendly affair, Community Connections will also have food, games and fun for the whole family. For more information, contact Lennie Latham at (704) 302-7252.
