Easter Seals UCP to Designate 20 Percent of Funds Raised from Sanford Walk With Me Event to Disaster Relief Efforts

Bookmark and Share Sanford, NC - April 19, 2011 -

The Easter Seals UCP Sanford Walk With Me event, which is scheduled for May 7 at Depot Park, will designate 20 percent of money raised to the American Red Cross to support local disaster relief efforts resulting from the weekend’s tornados and severe storms.

“The devastating storm has affected many of the families and individuals we serve,” said Jamie Garrett, Easter Seals UCP community director. “The Sanford community has been a great support to our organization and as a community member we want to do what we can to jump in and help. While the local services we provide are dependent on funds generated by events like Walk With Me, this is a time when we need to redirect and rally around the entire community of Sanford. We can help by sharing the funds raised from this particular community event.”
