Enterprising Women Welcomes Two New Members To Advisory Board

RALEIGH, N.C., May 5, 2017 – Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine, has appointed mother and daughter duo, Sheila C. Boyington, PE and Priya Boyington, to serve on the publication’s advisory board. The board is comprised of a select group of women and men who support the publication and give back to the women business owners’ community by providing leadership, motivation and inspiration to thousands of women entrepreneurs across North America and around the world.

Sheila is the co-founder and president of Thinking Media, the creator of Learning Blade® for STEM education. Learning Blade is an online career awareness system to increase awareness and interest in STEM careers, and in only three years, it has been adopted statewide in Tennessee and Arkansas and used in more than 25 states. In addition to her work, she is leading national efforts in advancing STEM opportunities for women by currently serving as the national senior advisor to STEMconnector® and national states chair for Million Women Mentors®. Sheila is a serial entrepreneur, leading the creation of several products. Her company, Thinking Media is also the creator of ACT’s KeyTrain® system for WorkKeys® and career readiness, PictureRx® for health literacy, and CharacterEd.Net® for K-12 character education. She holds a Master of Science in civil/environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Florida.

Priya is an e-commerce marketer, passionate about the intersection of retail and technology. Priya started her career in management consulting with Bain & Company in Atlanta, working with Fortune 500 companies in the Private Equity Group. She also was the 10th employee at GoldieBlox, a toy startup in San Francisco working to inspire the next generation of female engineers. She currently resides in San Francisco and is the strategy and retention marketing manager for Stitch Fix's newly launched men's business. Her passion to give back and inspire women into STEM careers has led her to participate as a board member for Thinking Media and a member of the Young Alumnae Council for Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She also participates in Million Women Mentors®. She holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial and systems engineering from Georgia Tech, where she was a President's Scholar and president of AXO sorority. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, receiving the Forte Fellowship and chairing the Wharton Entrepreneurship Conference.
