$20,000 Donation Will Facilitate Move to Larger Venue

First Tennessee Bank has presented Habitat for Humanity of Wake County with a check for $20,000 as part of its two-year commitment to serve as presenting sponsor of the organization’s annual Blueprint Breakfast fundraiser. The donation will allow Habitat Wake to hold its 2017 fundraiser at PNC Arena in Raleigh, a much larger venue than what had accommodated previous events.

The 2016 Blueprint Breakfast attracted more than 600 attendees and raised $250,000. Organizers hope the 2017 event, to be held March 21, will raise more than $300,000 for Habitat Wake to help build affordable homes in Wake County with families in need. Although there is no charge to attend the spring breakfast, donations are encouraged.

“Habitat for Humanity of Wake County has helped more than 550 local families achieve the dream of homeownership,” said Jim Beck, president, Triangle market. “We at First Tennessee Bank salute their efforts and are proud to help promote the good work they do.”

“This commitment from First Tennessee Bank has allowed us to think big,” said Danita Morgan, vice president for development and communications at Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. “We’ve outgrown almost all the hotel ballrooms in town, and we foresee this event continuing to grow over the next few years.”
