Hospice of Davidson County is providing several opportunities for those in the community to remember loved ones and honor cherished memories through its annual ornament and luminary sale and Night of Reflection event.

This year’s ornament is a hand-crafted ceramic angel with hand-painted silver wings and is available for $12. A luminary and ornament may be purchased together for $20. The luminaries will be lit and displayed at Hospice of Davidson County located at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, through the holiday season. Each luminary will hold a card honoring or memorializing a loved one.

In addition, the Night of Reflection is set for Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. At this free event, community members can visit the Hospice of Davidson County campus to view the lit luminaries while listening to live music, in honor and memory of loved ones.

“While the holidays are a time of joy and celebration, it is also a time of reflection and remembrance,” said Hospice of Davidson County CEO, Laura Owen. “We hope the Night of Reflection provides a special opportunity for our community to come together to honor and remember those they have lost.”

Ornaments may be picked up at the Night of Reflection or Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season. Proceeds from the ornaments and luminaries are designated for the compassionate care and grief support of the agency’s patients and families facing a life limiting illness.
