Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (“HPG”), a Triangle-based CPA firm serving the financial management needs of local, multistate, and international businesses, as well as their owners, announces Cheryl Rhew as partner effective January 1, 2017. Rhew has been promoted in recognition of her commitment and dedication to client success as well as her contributions to growing the firm.

Rhew joined HPG in 2015 as a manager on the Firm’s tax team where she works with a variety of clients including individuals, nonprofits, and closely held businesses. Cheryl also serves as a trusted advisor to her clients by providing business consulting, planning, and operational assistance to help them meet their strategic objectives.

In addition to her career in public accounting, Rhew served for over 18 years in the North Carolina National Guard. She completed Officer Candidate School and obtained the rank of Major and held the branch specialties of Finance and Quartermaster (Logistics).

Additionally, Rhew volunteers with the Board of Second Chance Pet Adoption, a nonprofit animal rescue organization that has been rescuing stray or abandoned cats and dogs in the Triangle Area since 1987. Cheryl brings significant accounting and nonprofit expertise to the Board of Directors.
