The Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) has been honored for its efforts in growing the number of CPM® (Certified Property Manager) memberships. In recognition of this achievement, the Chapter received one complimentary registration for the 2011 IREM Fall Leadership Conference and two vouchers for a self-paced or self-paced select course in 2011.

CPM is a real estate professional designation that is awarded by IREM and recognized by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). To attain a CPM designation, candidates must join IREM, as well as their local IREM Chapter. They must also pass several IREM-required courses including marketing, human resources, asset management, and ethics and complete a management plan on a subject building. Amanda Hall, Regional Manager, CPM® with William Douglas Management, has been an IREM member since 2006 and achieved her CPM designation in April. She began the process while working with another company out of Chicago and says that her new designation will ultimately help her in her career, as well as the clients she serves.

“I am excited to finally complete this [CPM designation] journey,” says Hall. “I learned a lot throughout the process, and the courses helped me gain more knowledge and a better foundation in our industry. I have incorporated many aspects into my daily routine, and I am happy that I am able to share this insight with my Team.”

Earlier this year, IREM Chapter 105 also achieved Five Star Status for the fourth consecutive year. The Chapter was recognized for a variety of initiatives it undertook in 2010, while under the leadership of Immediate Past President, Tracey Johnson, CPM. The Chapter Star Recognition Program recognizes IREM chapters for providing valuable member services and programs. The program awards points for specific activities based on criteria that define effective, successful chapters—some activities are required, others are elective. Then, based on total points earned, chapters can achieve Three, Four, or Five Star Status. This is the fourth consecutive year that Chapter 105 has been awarded Five Star Status.

Current Chapter president Jason Stowe, CPM®, says that he is proud of his Chapter and the many accomplishments they have achieved so far in 2011. “These honors are not accomplished by one person alone,” says Stowe. “Through a strong Board, dedicated committee members, and an enthusiastic membership, we have been able to do extraordinary things and will continue to make the Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 a leader in the real estate industry.”
