Charlotte’s JazzArts Initiative (JAI) is proud to announce a very special holiday music show: “Piano Night Featuring the Music of Vince Guaraldi” on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 6:30–9:00PM. It will take place at the Blumenthal Booth Playhouse (at Founders Hall), 130 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28202.

Back by popular demand, this holiday show is part of JAI’s acclaimed monthly series – The Jazz Room @ The Stage Door Theater – and the ticket price includes a catered pre-reception and a silent auction from 5:30-6:30PM to support the JAI Jazz Academy and Performance-based programs. Limited tickets are only $20 in advance and can be purchased at www.carolinatix.org, by calling 704-372-1000, or at the door if available.

Best known for his beloved piano score to the immensely popular TV special, “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown,” Vince Guaraldi has become a perennial favorite during the holiday season and his music has delighted audiences for over five decades. Five of Charlotte’s top jazz pianists – Chad Lawson, Charles Craig, Lovell Bradford, Gary Marcus, and Ryan Hanseler – along with an ensemble of regional musicians and vocalists will be playing the music of the legendary composer as well as many other holiday favorites. The show will also feature special guest artist, world-renowned trumpeter Mark Rapp.

“This is a show every member of the family will love,” says JAI President and CEO Lonnie Davis. “Come jazz up your holidays with these amazing musicians! Our shows have all been selling out so we encourage everyone to get their tickets early.”
