Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina Awarded Grant from John Deere Foundation

Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina was recently awarded two grants of $10,000 each from the John Deere Foundation. The foundation is the main philanthropic organization of John Deere, and makes charitable investments around the world in the areas of solutions for world hunger, education, and community development.

These grant funds will allow Junior Achievement to bring financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness programs to over 400 students in each of the two communities Cary and Fuquay-Varina where John Deere has facilities in North Carolina. Trained volunteers from each facility will bring the JA lessons to life by sharing their personal and professional experiences in an estimated 40 classrooms. Through these grants each class will receive five to seven in classroom lessons, the grants also funds job shadow opportunities for high school students in the area.
