Kerr Drug Introduces Razorpit, a Sharp Way to Save Money and the Environment

As of today, Kerr Drug stores across North Carolina will be stocking the Razorpit - the latest product to hit the shaving market. The Danish-designed Razorpit uses a friction-based method to remove the fine residues of hair, skin and soap that make razor blades dull, extending the life of any one razor blade from ten shaves to 150 shaves.

Shaving tools, razors and blades are big business in the United States. With over $1.76 billion spent on blades alone, Americans are throwing away their cash along with millions of razor blades each year.

“The number one complaint that we hear from customers about shaving products is the cost and short lifespan of razor blades,” says Bill Bill Baxley, senior vice-president of merchandising and marketing at Kerr Drug. “We think that the Razorpit is something that every dad should have to complement their shaving routine.”

Most men find that for the most comfortable shaving experience, you should change your blade approximately once per week. With the most popular five-blade cartridges costing an average of $4.51, a typical guy will save over $200 in the first year alone by using the Razorpit. For consumers, this means good value – and it also means reducing the millions of used blades and packaging that go into landfills each year.

Razorpit’s simple design is made of recycled TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomeric), which is a highly stable, inactive material with the properties of silicone and rubber. To clean the razor, the blade is simply glided across the surface of the Razorpit removing soap, skin, hair and other residue that makes a razor feel dull.

“The razor blades we purchase today are superior products that have the potential to last a long time. There is no reason why we should be tossing them in the trash after a few days,” says Jason Goncalves, president of Perma Brands, the distributor of Razorpit in North America. “Razorpit lets you extend the life of your razor blades, giving you more value for your money, and leaving fewer razor blades in landfills. It’s a beautiful example of an innovation that is set to revolutionize the razor blade industry and save money for millions of Americans.”

Razorpit is available at razorpitusa.com for $25 at Kerr Drug stores, or at www.razorpitusa.com.
