Kerr Drug Launches Community Collections for School Supplies

Bookmark and Share Across North Carolina - August 05, 2011 -

What: Every child deserves to start the new school year with all the necessary school supplies. But during these difficult economic times, many families simply cannot afford school supplies. That’s why Kerr Drug, the pioneer in community pharmacy, is launching a new community based effort to help North Carolina’s children prepare for the new school year. Starting July 31 collection bins will be located in every Kerr Drug store to accept donations of notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, backpacks and other NEW back to school items.

Where: Every Kerr Drug store is collecting school supplies to help children in their community. Donations will be accepted at all Kerr Drug stores across North Carolina.

Who: The Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation has identified a school or organization in the community around every Kerr Drug store that can be helped by the donated supplies. The local store will distribute the school supplies to the organizations they’ve identified at the end of the campaign.

When: Collection bins will be set up from August 4 – September 15. Purchase the back to school items drop them in the collection bins found in each store. The Kerr Drug staff will distribute the items at the end of the campaign in time for the start of the school year.

Why: Because Kerr Drug employees are hearing how challenging it is for families to get through these difficult times, Kerr Drug and its Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation is trying to help.
