Marketfair shopping center is welcoming three new tenants to its redeveloped retail, dining and cinema destination, which is located at 1916 Skibo Rd. Rocket Fizz, Pioneer Services and The Air Force Recruiting are all confirmed to open in the centrally located Fayetteville shopping plaza in the spring of 2016.

The newest Marketfair tenants bring a unique lineup to the expanding shopping center:

1. Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop, the largest and fastest-growing retailer of its kind in America, sells thousands of bottled soda and vintage treats along with gifts, posters and gear.

2. Pioneer Services is the military division of MidCountry Bank, a federal savings bank that provides financial services and lending to active-duty and career-retired service members.

3. Air Force Recruiting, a key component of the United States Air Force, works to engage and develop future Airmen to further its mission to fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace.

“We are so excited to bring the Rocket Fizz concept to Marketfair, the perfect central location for our first store in Fayetteville,” said Ann Wiremalm Sims, franchise owner of the local Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop. “Our shop will offer thousands of sweet and vintage treats, including buckets of candy with taffy, moon pies, wax lips, jaw breakers, sour straws and lemon heads, as well as a unique and crazy selection of bottled soda pops. We can’t wait to share our retro candy shop with locals both young and old!”

The new additions will join anchors Carmike Cinemas, Gander Mountain and H.H. Gregg, as well as Mikoto Japanese Express, Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, Lumber Liquidators and Ruby Nails, which are all open now. Planet Fitness, the fastest-growing full size health club franchise in the United States, is scheduled to open at Marketfair in early 2016.

Marketfair shopping center was purchased in late 2012 by an entity owned by certain funds managed by real estate investment firm Westport Capital Partners LLC. At the time, it consisted of a freestanding building housing two anchor stores and an outdated enclosed mall space. Westport engaged WSB Retail Partners LLC, formerly Sunbelt Ventures, to oversee the redevelopment of the project that transformed the property into a modern, open-air shopping center concentrated around a 15-screen Carmike Cinemas movie theater.
