Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Andy Munn has joined the firm’s public affairs team, MVA Public Affairs, as director of state public affairs.

“We are pleased and honored to have Andy on board,” said Managing Director & Head of Public Affairs Walter S. Price. “He brings a tremendous wealth of experience, with an esteemed background in public policy, policy analysis, and legislative and community relations. He is highly regarded in Raleigh and beyond, and will certainly be a valuable asset to our clients and firm.”

In his role, Munn will lead MVA Public Affairs’ government relations team in Raleigh and represent clients before the North Carolina General Assembly and North Carolina state agencies. Having worked on a broad scope of policy matters throughout his career in the private and public sectors, Munn will advise and serve clients on a range of matters.

“I am eager to hit the ground running with Moore & Van Allen’s accomplished and flourishing public affairs team,” said Munn. “It has been an honor to work for the state House for the past four years, and I am excited about this worthwhile opportunity and transition in my career.”

Munn has more than 15 years of legislative relations and public policy experience. Immediately before joining MVA Public Affairs, he served as deputy chief of staff to North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore, acting as senior budget advisor and principal liaison on health care matters. Prior to that, Munn served as director of policy for North Carolina House Speaker Thom Tillis, developing and implementing policy strategies for the Speaker and members of the North Carolina House of Representatives, and advising on finance, economic development, local government, unemployment insurance, and regulatory reform issues.

Munn’s experience includes serving for former U.S. Representatives Sue Myrick and Robin Hayes. In the private sector, he has managed state and local public affairs for a global manufacturing company and a real estate and development organization. Munn was named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2012 “40 Under 40” list. He earned his B.S. from Appalachian State University, where he currently serves on the Board of Visitors.
