Silverspot Cinema is celebrating its grand opening by inviting the public to a VIP screening event Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. A hundred percent of the ticket sales will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill.

“Our team is thrilled to celebrate the opening of our first North Carolina location in Chapel Hill,” said Senior Director of Marketing Randi Emerman. “What better way to celebrate then to give back to an organization that does so much for children and families in Chapel Hill as well as across the state, country and world?”

Silverspot Cinema will be opening at University Place (formerly University Mall) in late October. The 13-screen theatre will include a full-service restaurant and bar, plush leather seats and the screenings of independent and foreign films along with Hollywood blockbusters. Tickets for the VIP event are $25 per person and include food, drinks and a screening of one of the featured films and can be purchased at http://www.rmh-chapelhill.org/page/silverspot-cinema-vip-party.

“We are honored to be Silverspot’s charity of choice as they join our Chapel Hill community,” said Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill Executive Director Shelley Day. “It’s a great way for folks within our community to enjoy a night out as well as help our House keep families close.”

The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill is nearing completion of a 24,000-square-foot expansion of its facilities. This includes an additional 24 guest rooms, as well as long-term suites and apartments for bone marrow transplant patients. It will also include a groundbreaking pediatric palliative care program – Loving Hands – the first of its kind in North Carolina and the global RMHC network. Other additions include a courtyard that offers two playgrounds, extensive gardens, meditation areas and a patio for outdoor dining.
