Nexsen Pruet Elects Six New Members in Five Practice Areas

Nexsen Pruet has elected six members (partners) in five different practice areas effective January 1, 2016. These attorneys are based in the firm’s Greensboro, NC and Greenville, SC offices.

They are Brian Anderson (Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights), Rachael Anna (Business Litigation), Amy Allen Hinson (Intellectual Property), Chris King (Financial Services), Jeffrey Reichard (Construction), and Burl Williams (Business Litigation).

Greensboro

Brian Anderson - Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights

•Represents banking and financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors, and guarantors before state and federal courts

•Counsels on a wide range of matters, including complex Chapter 11 cases, avoidance actions, and adversary proceedings.

Jeffrey Reichard - Construction

•Regularly represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals and lenders in disputes regarding construction issues

•Licensed patent attorney representing both large and small entities in all aspects of intellectual property procurement and enforcement

Greenville

Rachael Anna - Business Litigation

•Focuses on antitrust, complex litigation, health care, and electronic discovery and information management issues.

•Represents clients in a wide range of industries on all aspects of antitrust, including mergers and acquisitions, competitor collaborations, government investigations, and litigation.

•Co-Manager of the firm's ESI Group.

Amy Allen Hinson - Intellectual Property

•Strategizes with clients concerning intellectual property protection and portfolio management.

•Prepares and prosecutes patent, trademark, and copyright applications in the U.S. and internationally.

•Enforces patent, trademark, and copyright rights for clients through litigation and proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Chris King - Financial Services

•Assists with corporate transactions including the organization and formation of all types of business entities, purchase and sale of equity interests, and management of corporate governance

•Represents lenders in the documentation, negotiation and closing of traditional, asset-based and other forms of commercial loan transactions

Burl Williams - Business Litigation

•Experienced in the trial of a variety of complex commercial and tort litigation matters, including shareholder and corporate governance disputes, as well as product liability defense.

•Defends individuals and organizations involved in complex criminal matters.

•Experienced in either seeking the reversal, or the protection, of judgements and jury verdicts on appeal.

Throughout 2015 the firm hired 17 attorneys across the Carolinas, putting the firm over the 200-lawyer mark for the first time. These new hires add to the breadth of services in the areas of Business Litigation, Corporate, Employment and Labor, Financial Services, Real Estate, and Intellectual Property. Nine of the new hires are South Carolina-based with eight in North Carolina.
