James Chambers, President of the North Carolina Executive Roundtable (NCER), announced that Laura Noble, Attorney at Law, will discuss key factors regarding employment law through her presentation, “Top Ten Employment Laws Executives Need to Know” at the Friday, February 14, 2014 NCER meeting of members at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary at 11:45am. The meeting is open to members and invited guests, and the cost is $30.00.

The presentation will inform participants about the latest employee law developments, provide an introduction to a number of employment laws and explore new ideas on keeping the employee handbook current and tracking policy updates given to employees.

“Education is paramount,” said Chambers. “A presentation such as this will ensure local businesses are well-informed and correctly enforcing in their efforts to lawfully run their companies.”

The background that led Laura Noble to a niche practice, focused exclusively on employment law, isn’t typical. After graduating from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Political Science and then attending the University of Maryland School of Law, Laura moved to New York and worked as a prosecutor in one of the largest and most challenging District Attorney’s offices in the country. Laura then spent eleven months with a “big law” civil litigation firm in Manhattan before becoming Deputy Director for Advocacy and Legal Services at Covenant House in New York.

Laura landed in North Carolina and began her boutique employment law practice, The Noble Law Firm, in 2009. Laura’s firm is located in downtown Chapel Hill, but her clients come from across the state. The firm provides clarity on key employment issues both to individuals and companies. The firm represents individual clients in counseling, negotiation and litigation related to workplace issues. The firm also provides advice and counsel to companies seeking to implement “best practices” in their employment policies and procedures. These companies understand that by doing so, not only are they minimizing their litigation risk, but they are also improving recruitment, retention and overall employee relations.

Offering forward-thinking and assertive representation, Noble Law provides clients personal and focused attention because of its deliberative intent to have a selective caseload. Noble Law offers clients a clear vision of expected results and achieves those results with high efficiency and transparency. The firm is able to do this because it partners with its clients, persists to overcome challenges, and constantly seeks to learn and improve. The firm is also dedicated to giving back to the community. From winning her law school’s public service award back in the 90’s, to today’s work with legal services, Laura’s firm executes on its commitment to improving access to legal services in North Carolina.
