The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter (LFANC) is hosting its “2016 Lupus Empowerment Workshop Series” in Fayetteville on Tuesday, June 14.

The workshop in Fayetteville is scheduled for 6:30-8:30PM and will take the place of the regularly scheduled monthly Cumberland County Lupus Support Group Meeting in June. The seminar will be held at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices All American Homes located at 6920 Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville (28314). Juan A. Flores, Jr., attorney at law, will be presenting “Lupus & Social Security Disability.”

In this session, attendees will learn about how Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) works, program eligibility, ways to break the current application backlog, and specific information for individuals with lupus.

“Our educational seminars enable us to give the 45,000 individuals who are living with lupus in North Carolina the opportunity to feel empowered to take charge of their health,” said Christine John-Fuller, President & CEO of LFANC. “We appreciate the incredible support of our presenters and volunteers who play a vital role in furthering our mission and in helping make life better for those affected by lupus.”

The “2016 Lupus Empowerment Workshop Series” is a six-city series of educational workshops that will provide individuals affected by lupus with methods for not only living, but also thriving. The seminars offer information on different topics from subject matter experts. The remaining four will take place on: June 15 in Greensboro; July 19 in Wilmington and on Aug. 20 in Charlotte and Raleigh.
