New studio kicks off membership registration with family-friendly event including a raffle, music, kids activities and more

Orangetheory Fitness, the energizing group interval fitness concept, is expanding in the Triangle with a West Cary studio coming to Parkside Town Commons late this summer. A pre-sale location for the studio is now open daily between Tijuana Flats and Taziki’s Café to give interested residents a sneak-peak at the workouts and exclusive introductory discounted memberships available only before the studio opens. Now is the best time for people of all fitness levels to come learn more about the workout trend that’s a favorite among several celebrities, Olympic athletes and NFL champions to name a few.

To introduce Cary residents to the concept, the Orangetheory Fitness team is hosting a family-friendly celebration Sunday, May 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the pre-sale location. The celebration will include a raffle of a special package valued at $150, music, kids activities, workout demos and more. The first 100 people to become a member will receive a free customized Orangetheory Fitness West Cary t-shirt.

“I opened the first Triangle studio in 2014 because I witnessed firsthand the results members can get from our workouts,” said local franchise owner and area developer, Kristie Shifflette. “Now two years and five local studios later, I’m even more blown away with the positive effects this concept delivers our members. I’ve seen people be able to reduce medications, finish their first 5K or get a new personal record running a marathon. And that’s the best part about Orangetheory Fitness: it is great for anyone of any age, fitness level, shape or size. Everyone can achieve their fitness goals or improved health and wellness with our proven science.”

The workout also features wearable technology, a top fitness trend for 2016. During each hour-long class, Orangetheory Fitness participants wear heart-rate-monitors as they go through interval training exercises with their heart rates shown on TVs throughout the studio. This allows the expert trainers to guide individual participants when to push harder and when to slow down for active recovery in order to get the best results for their fitness level. By following their direction, members maximize the Orange Effect, which is added caloric burn for up to 36 hours after the workout. In total, participants can burn 500 to 1,000 calories per 60-minute class – one of the many reasons Orangetheory Fitness has been hailed on The Today Show and in The Wall Street Journal as an extremely effective workout.

Residents are encouraged to join now to lock in the limited-time only discounted founders’ rate memberships before the studio officially opens. As founding members, rates are fixed and will not increase while the membership remains active. To learn more or join, community members can stop by the pre-sale spot between Tijuana Flats and Taziki’s Café at 7165 O'Kelly Chapel Rd. in Cary.
