Project SEARCH Wake In Search Of Business Partner

Bookmark and Share Raleigh NC - March 25, 2016 -

Project SEARCH Wake recently held its second information session for individuals interested in applying to the vocational training program that is scheduled to start in August 2016 in Wake County. Project SEARCH is a program that facilitates higher wage competitive employment for persons with significant disabilities. While Project SEARCH has been in operation since 1996 and has over 400 training sites nationally and internationally, Project SEARCH Wake will be the first site in Wake County and is currently in the process of identifying a host business site that will provide internship opportunities for young adults with disabilities.

“Host sites vary from hospitals to museums and the business benefits by creating a resource for filling positions and reducing turnover. In addition, it makes good business sense to hire persons with disabilities to mirror the customer base of one’s business as persons with disabilities and their families are a large customer base,” said Julie Griffin, Vocational Services Director, Community Workforce Solutions.

Project SEARCH Wake is seeking a host site. If interested in becoming a host site please contact Julie Griffin at jgriffin@communityworkforcesolutions.com.
