Seeking donations for truck leaving Aug. 20

Devastating storms that dumped over two feet of rain in 48 hours in parts of Louisiana has led to significant flooding resulting in nine casualties and more than 10,000 people living in shelters. To assist with flood-relief efforts, RallyPoint Sport Grill in Cary and Dram & Draught in Raleigh are teaming up to bring much-needed supplies to those affected.

Chad Michael McIntyre, owner of Eco-Tech Draft Systems, LLC in Raleigh, is going to his hometown of Baton Rouge to deliver much-needed supplies. Volunteers will be loading up a truck, and Chad will depart for flood-ravaged regions on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m.

Drew Schenck, owner of RallyPoint and Dram & Draught, has volunteered the two locations as donation drop-off points. “Chad is willing to drive down to Louisiana and help those affected by the flooding, so let’s all chip in and help fill that truck,” said Schenck.

Those wishing to help are encouraged to drop off the following supplies at either RallyPoint Sport Grill (837 Bass Pro Lane, Cary) or Dram & Draught (623 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh):

• Work gloves

• Disposable dust masks

• Box knives (box cutters)

• Large trash bags

• Medium to large plastic bins (to store what didn’t get wet)

• Socks – men’s, women’s, children’s sizes

• Diapers – all sizes

• Toilet paper

• Toothbrushes and toothpaste

• Bug spray

• Home Depot gift cards

RallyPoint Sport Grill will be collecting items up until Friday, Aug. 19. Dram and Draught will be collecting items up until 11 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the 1 p.m. truck departure.
