Anyone interested in registering in person may do so on Jan. 24 from 8 a.m.—6 p.m. at the 24 Foundation office located at 801 E. “We look forward to another amazing event this year and encourage people to come by to meet our team, learn more about our organization and get signed up,” said Mallory Walsh, executive director of 24 Foundation. “We plan to fill our 1,400 rider and 200 walker participant spots quickly so we urge people to register right away on January 24.”

The 16th Annual 24 Hours of Booty presented by Levine Cancer Institute – geared for all ages and abilities – is scheduled to roll on Charlotte’s famed “Booty Loop” in Myers Park from 7 p.m. Friday, July 28 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017. To safely accommodate participants on the 2.9-mile closed course, event registration will be capped, so participants are encouraged to register on Jan. 24.

All cycling and walk participants must register online at www.24foundation.org/register. Prior to the Charlotte event: All riders ages 12 and up must pay a $75 registration fee and are required to raise a minimum of $400. Child riders ages 8-11 must pay a $50 registration fee and are required to raise a minimum of $200. All walkers ages 8 and up must pay a $30 registration fee. Adult walkers ages 18 and up must raise a minimum of $400 and youth walkers ages 17 and under must raise a minimum of $200. Registered participants receive: online fundraising tools; access to templates and fundraising ideas; fundraising level incentives; an event T-shirt; full bike and medical support; entertainment; as well as meals, snacks and drinks throughout the event.

“We are very grateful for our incredible community of participants, donors, cancer survivors, supporters, volunteers, the Myers Park Neighborhood and spectators who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer,” said Walsh. “We’re excited to bring everyone together again this summer for a great event with new elements.”

This year’s event will also include the Second Annual Kids’ Ride and an inaugural Walk:

Myers Park Traditional School and Queens University of Charlotte will again serve as home to the event’s headquarters – known as “Bootyville” – where participants camp, eat and recharge when not out on the course. About the 24 Hours of Booty Rebrand

The 24-hour charity event in Charlotte is still known as 24 Hours of Booty, but the organization has been rebranded as 24 Foundation. In addition to hosting 24 Hours of Booty, 24 Foundation will implement a new revenue model with non-event income sources including: annual donor legacy gifts, planned giving options, stock options, appreciated assets and outside grant assistance.

Adds Walsh, “Our organization’s rebrand as 24 Foundation enables us to expand our partnership opportunities to further impact the local and national cancer community. Through our 24 Hours of Booty charity event and our additional funding approach, we will be changing the path of cancer navigation and survivorship, and ultimately providing these outstanding services for all.”
