Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. Announces New Board of Directors and Executive Committee

Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. (WFD) is pleased to announce the appointment of four new board members and a new executive committee.

Shanean Anderson, DDS; Bill Harrison, PhD; Jennifer Smart; and Joe Kimray are the newest WFD Board of Directors, joining 12 other directors who oversee the organization’s program of work, policies and practices, strategic planning and adherence to the Main Street principles.

Anderson owns and operates Smile Sculptors of Wake Forest, a dental practice on Franklin Street in downtown Wake Forest; Harrison owns and operates Parlér Properties, LLC a real estate services agency on S. White Street in downtown Wake Forest; Smart is the Assistant Director of the Wake Forest Historical Museum on N. Main Street; and Kimray manages B&W Hardware, a long-time storefront on S. White Street in downtown Wake Forest.

All four new board members are active in serving and supporting Wake Forest, surrounding communities, and local non-profit organizations and causes.

During a recent WFD meeting, the Board of Directors voted for the Executive Committee that will serve during the July 2014 - June 2015 fiscal year.

Michael Johnson was named chair and will succeed Casey Atwater; James Warren was named secretary, Angela Bendorf Jamison was re-elected vice chair; and Carter Harrell was re-elected treasurer.

Other members of the WFD Board include Amanda Giustiniani, Matt Hale, Karen Bennion, and Marc Iafrate. Greg Harrington serves as ex-officio for the Town of Wake Forest, Lisa Hayes serves as the Town’s downtown development director, and Chip Russell serves as a Town representative.
