William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce the official opening of its new Student Services Building, located in the heart of campus at 15 East Peace Street, adjacent to Belk Dining Hall and the Hermann Athletic Center. The building, which expands upon a historic facility that currently houses the school’s boiler room, features spacious, energy-efficient offices for members of the WPU Student Services Department, and a bottom floor that will eventually house a coffee shop and student lounge.

The building’s construction perfectly demonstrates the University’s continuous efforts to expand and renovate campus facilities. This past year, Belk Dining Hall underwent a massive redesign, which included increased seating and dining booths, several flat-panel televisions, and new food stations provided by Sodexo. One year earlier, labs for both Simulation and Game Design and Physics were completely renovated to include state-of-the-art technology and modernizations, and in 2012, the Hermann Athletic Center underwent a dramatic revitalization which included the installations of a newly designed basketball court, auxiliary gym, weight room, and business offices.

“These projects are a direct example of the University’s mission and desire to meet the needs of its current and future students,” said John Cranham, Associate Vice President for Buildings and Grounds at William Peace University. “Everything we do is for our students, and their success is truly our mission. They will be able to enjoy this latest space, along with the others we’ve renovated, for years to come.”

“We could not be more thrilled about the completion of this latest project,” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., President of William Peace University. “Our students deserve the very best in education and facilities and we continue to provide them with that.”

Construction was completed in about one year, and was performed by Davidson & Jones Construction Company of Raleigh.
