William Peace University Hosts Inaugural “Living in Peace” Wellness Fair on April 10

RALEIGH, N.C., March 7, 2014 – William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce that it is hosting its first-ever “Living in Peace” Wellness Fair on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the Hermann Athletic Center located at 15 East Peace St. The inaugural event will be held from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and will include free health screenings, educational information on health awareness and disease prevention, fitness classes (CrossFit, Zumba, Krav Maga, etc.), and general promotion of health, fitness and dietary wellness.

Local businesses are encouraged to participate by showcasing their products and services. Current vendors include the American Cancer Society, Wake County Dept. of Health and Human Services, City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources, Duke University Medicine, and Whole Foods Market, among others. Vendor registration is free, but required.

“William Peace University is excited to host and promote this special event,” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. “Being knowledgeable about health and wellness are very important in maintaining a well-balanced lifestyle. This event will not only help educate our students, faculty, staff, and Alumni on those benefits, but the community as well.”
