William Peace University Hosts Triangle Omicron Delta Kappa

Local Four-Year Baccalaureate University Invites Triangle-Area ODK Members

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 21, 2014 – William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced it is hosting the Triangle Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Centennial Celebration on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, was founded in 1914 and was the first national college honor society to recognize and honor meritorious leadership and service in extracurricular activities and encourage campus citizenship. Its national membership consists of more than 300,000 people. The WPU chapter was formed in April 2009 and includes nearly 150 students, alumni, faculty and staff.

The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Kenan Hall and will feature a keynote address by Korrel Kanoy, Ph.D., William Peace University’s Professor Emerita of Psychology. A networking reception will immediately follow.

“We are excited to have Dr. Kanoy join us once again to discuss emotional intelligence and leadership during this important occasion,” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. “With her vast knowledge of psychology, emotional intelligence and leadership, and her strong ties to William Peace University, she is sure to be a dynamic keynote speaker for Omicron Delta Kappa members.”

“I am delighted to be asked to present the keynote address on leadership and emotional intelligence,” said Kanoy. “I look forward to celebrating Triangle-area Omicron Delta Kappa members and their leadership as they mark this important occasion in the society’s history.”
