William Peace University, (http://www.peace.edu/) a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce the hiring of Sarah Leviton as Admissions Counselor. In her role, Leviton will review prospective student applications, recruit on behalf of the University at high school and college fairs, and personally work with students and families during the admissions process. Additionally, Leviton will schedule private visits at high schools in North Carolina and surrounding states, such as Virginia and Maryland.

Before coming to WPU, Leviton served as Regional Director with International Student Volunteers, an organization that provides educational travel programs to university students and youth internationally, and Publicity Chairman for the American Red Cross at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg. Leviton earned a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she received the Chancellors Achievement Award in 2011. During her time at UNCW, she also interned for the Wilmington Hammerheads, a semi-professional soccer team based in the area.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity to start my new journey as Admissions Counselor at such a historic and distinguished university in the heart of North Carolina,” Leviton said. “I am in awe of how the students, faculty, and staff go above and beyond for one another on a daily basis. I want to continue that trend and I look forward to diligently working with my fellow colleagues and students.”

“We’re thrilled to have Sarah join our staff,” said Debra M. Townsley, President of William Peace University. “Our Admissions Department is full of wonderful counselors and she will certainly add to that.”

“The admissions process can be difficult,” said Sarah Urman ’17. “That’s why it’s great that Peace is so hands-on and has people who really care about walking you through all of the steps.”
