William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce the hiring of Xandra Lauch as Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology. Lauch, who was first hired by the University as an adjunct professor in 2013, will primarily teach introductory anthropology labs and courses. Additionally, she will serve as a resource for students interested in archaeology.

Prior to joining William Peace University, Lauch worked as a teaching and research assistant at North Carolina State University, as well as an archaeologist at ICF International and Archaeological Investigations Northwest. Lauch holds a B.A in Anthropology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and a M.A. in Anthropology from NC State.

“I’m excited to step into this new role at Peace. When the option came to take on more responsibility at the University and become more involved in the community, I couldn’t say no,” Lauch said. “I love teaching and the students at Peace are a great group that makes my job even more fun. I look forward to being more involved in the University community and helping our students succeed both in school and at life.”

“Professor Lauch is very knowledgeable about biological anthropology,” said Terecka Payne ’15, Liberal Studies Major and Anthropology Minor. “She expects hard work from her students and is very encouraging about it.”

Lauch is from Everett, WA and currently resides in Raleigh.
