24 Foundation announced today that Chasse Bailey-Dorton, MD, MSPH has been named chair of its board of directors.

“Every day I see firsthand the impact that 24 Foundation is making on the lives of those affected by cancer,” said Dr. Bailey-Dorton. “Serving on the board of this great organization has been a natural extension of my work, and I’m excited to be stepping into a role that will combine these passions further.”

Dr. Bailey-Dorton is Chief of the Integrative Oncology section within the Dept of Supportive Oncology at Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute. As a 17-year cancer survivor herself, she understands the importance of programs that 24 Foundation funds better than anyone. She has raised funds for cancer programs by climbing Kilimanjaro with the inaugural LIVESTRONG Survivor Summit in 2012 and has biked from South Carolina to Texas as part of Palmetto Peloton Project’s Challenge to Conquer Cancer. A graduate of Appalachian State University, she received a master of science in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a doctor of medicine degree from East Carolina School of Medicine. She also completed a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona’s program started by Dr. Andrew Weil (father of Integrative Medicine).

“Chasse [Bailey-Dorton] has been a long-time rider with and supporter of 24 Foundation, and an integral part of our board since 2015,” said Katy Ryan, executive director of 24 Foundation. “She is a friend to all and brings incredible passion and support to our organization, to our 24 Hours of Booty event and to the cancer community. A true pioneer with regards to integrative oncology and cancer survivorship efforts, we are so fortunate to have her leading our board and supporting our mission.”
