24 Foundation Kicks Off Season 19 of Charity Bike Ride and Walk - Jan. 21-24

24 Foundation will be kicking off Season 19 of its signature fundraiser – 24 Hours of Booty – with a weeklong celebration throughout Charlotte from Jan. 21-24.

The 19th Annual 24 Hours of Booty presented by Levine Cancer Institute is a charity non-competitive cycling and walking event geared for all ages and abilities. It is scheduled to roll on Charlotte’s famed “Booty Loop” in Myers Park from 7 p.m. Friday, July 24 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2019. The 4th Annual Walk will take place on Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

24 Foundation will be at the following locations during the celebration week to share event information and to provide discounted event registration:

Tuesday, Jan. 21

7-9 a.m. - Good Cup Coffee, 435 N. Trade Street, Matthews

11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. - The Loyalist Market, 435 N. Trade Street, Matthews

5-7 p.m. - Bicycle Sport – 2916 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte

Wednesday, Jan. 22

7-9 a.m. - Café Moka (Waverly), 7416 Waverly Walk

5-7 p.m. - NC Velo (Blakeney), 9815 Rae Road

Thursday, Jan. 23

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Bike Source (Park Road Shopping Center), 4301 Park Road

5-7:30 p.m. - Legion Brewing SouthPark, 5610 Carnegie Blvd.

Friday, Jan. 24

7-9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. - 7th Street Public Market (Uptown), 224 E. 7th Street

Anyone registering onsite at the above locations during the scheduled event times or online at 24foundation.org between 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 to 11:59 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 will receive a 24-percent discount when they use promo code REG24. 24 Foundation will have staff available at all locations to assist with registration. This will be the only time in 2020 that a discounted registration will be offered for 24 Hours of Booty.

“We are excited to make a huge splash in Charlotte as we kick off our nineteenth event season,” said Katy Ryan, Executive Director of 24 Foundation. “We look forward to celebrating throughout the Queen City and to getting as many people as possible involved in 24 Hours of Booty to help change the course of cancer.”

The regular registration fee for riders ages 12 and up is $75 and for child riders ages 8-11 is $50. The regular registration fee for adult walkers is $75 and for youth walkers (ages 4-17) is $30. Participants can sign up to walk as many laps as they would like on the 1.5-mile loop, located on the sidewalk alongside the cycling course. There is also a virtual participant category for $25 for those who aren’t able to ride or walk but would still like to fundraise. Myers Park Traditional School and Queens University of Charlotte will serve as home to the event’s headquarters – known as “Bootyville” – where participants camp, eat and recharge when not out on the course. In the past 19 years, 24 Foundation event participants have raised more than $22 million to support local and national cancer navigation and survivorship programs and services.

Funds raised support local cancer beneficiaries including: Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital and Queens University of Charlotte. For more information, visit www.24foundation.org.
