Bookmark and Share Cary, N.C. - September 19, 2018

Free Event to Raise Funds for Hope for Haiti Foundation, InterAct and SuNica

For the ninth year, organizers of the annual Rock Your World benefit concert will be staging a fun and energetic music event to raise funds for charity. This year’s main concert will take place Saturday, Sept. 29 from 5:30 to midnight at The Mayton Inn in Cary. Entertainment will be provided by a lineup of local and regional favorites, including Band of Brothers, Sidewinder, Davis Messina Band and Garland Mason.

Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to purchase food and beverages (30 percent of proceeds going to the charities), and participate in a huge silent auction, raffles and photo booth. VIP seats and tables are sold out, but a limited number of VIP Couples Experience packages – including a buffet dinner, taco bar, open bar, overnight accommodation and brunch – are still available for purchase.

Along with some smaller preliminary fundraisers, the main benefit concert will raise awareness of and funds for Hope for Haiti Foundation, InterAct and SuNica.

Hope for Haiti Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in North Carolina and a licensed Haiti NGO, with volunteers and supporters all over the United States and Haiti. The Foundation’s work impacts individual Haitians, empowering them to act and change their own nation.

InterAct is the only provider in Wake County for comprehensive domestic violence and sexual assault services. InterAct saves lives, rebuilds lives, and secures safer futures for victims, survivors and their families. Each year they reach approximately 45,000 Wake County residents.

SuNica is focused on clean water. Their work in Nicaragua is about coming alongside local leadership to bring about a sustainable clean-water solution that pipes water to every home. They engage students of those communities through a Christian mentorship program, help them stay in school, and incentivize a college career through scholarship opportunities.

“This event is really a labor of love for dozens of volunteers every year,” said Mark Martyak, event coordinator and member of Band of Brothers. “We invite everyone to come to downtown Cary, enjoy great music, and raise money for some very deserving charities. Our tagline is ‘rock and roll for a reason’ and we truly believe we can make a difference in our community and around the world.”

Gold Sponsors of Rock Your World are PowerSecure and the Martyak family, and Silver Sponsors are Hope Community Church and SunStone Consulting. Bronze Sponsors this year include Financial Strategies Group, Freedom Wealth Management, Social House Vodka, the Ammerman family, the Decker family, and the Ellis family. Friends of Rock Your World include Bost Custom Homes, S&A Communications, Dram & Draught, Kitchen & Bath Galleries, Ruckus Pizza, and The Shuckin’ Shack.
