Attorney Keith Wood to Lead NC Bar Association’s Tax Section

Greensboro, N.C. - Today Carruthers & Roth announced that attorney Keith Wood has been appointed chair of the Tax Section of the NC Bar Association. His one-year term will run from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.

The Tax Section includes more than 460 attorneys, law students and paralegals who focus on tax-related issues, policies, legislation and pro bono projects, including a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance training program to support military personnel throughout North Carolina.

The Tax Section meets annually with the NC Department of Revenue and with IRS representatives located in North Carolina. It also sponsors continuing education programs and services, publishes an informative newsletter and helps to mold the NC Bar Association's legislative agenda for presentation to the General Assembly.

As chair, Wood will oversee Tax Section programs and activities.

Wood is both an attorney and CPA with significant experience in taxes. He is also board-certified in estate planning and probate law. His practice at Carruthers & Roth is focused on business, tax and estate planning for a wide range of clients, including new startups, entrepreneurs and multigenerational family-owned businesses.

Wood frequently speaks to groups on tax and business succession topics and has been honored by the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants with multiple “Outstanding Speaker” awards. He is an honors graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law.
