Bobbitt Design Build announces that Don Comer, president and CEO, has been elected to serve as the chairman for the Butler Buildings Advisory Council.

The Butler Buildings Advisory Council, established 50 years ago, consists of 13 Butler Builders chosen geographically to represent all the Butler Builders in North America. The council holds two-year terms with the current council electing the chairman and four members to carry over at the end of every term.

Comer has served on the council for the past two years, and will begin his chairman duties in April.

“We are delighted to have Don serve as our next chairmen,” said Ron Miller, vice president of Butler Manufacturing. “He has a great deal of experience and is very well respected by his Butler Builder peers.”

The council provides insight to Butler on the current building market, general building trends, and specific products or services needed to serve building buyers in the best way possible.

In his role as chairman, Comer will work closely with Butler’s president, Tom Gilligan, to guide the key priorities of the council by focusing on strategic issues for the future, as well as making sure the council is adding value for all Butler Builders.

“As a Butler Builder, we will have better communication and be more in the know with Butler folks,” Comer said. “It’s a great way to exchange knowledge. We learn a lot from each other and how to continually make the way we build even better.”

The Butler Advisory Council meets every six months, and this year’s first meeting will be held on April 18 at Butler’s Visalia, Calif., facility.
