Barbara Petty, publisher of Boom! Magazine (boomnc.com), a monthly publication dedicated to the active lifestyle of those 45 and older, announces today that Boom! is publishing its ninth annual Performing Arts Calendar. The calendar will be included as a removable insert in the publication’s August edition with complimentary copies available at more than 600 locations in eight counties in and around the Triangle. One of the most comprehensive listings in the Triangle, the calendar will cover events from August 2011 through July 2012. It includes productions from the smallest community theater groups to national touring productions. There are six new performing arts groups listed this year including the Cary Arts Center, Carrboro Century Center/Town of Carrboro, and the Arts Council of Moore County.

“Performing arts play a key role in making the Triangle a richly diverse community,” says Petty. “Through our year-long calendar, we aim to provide easily accessible information to the area’s active adults that will help them stay connected to the latest events and performances.”
