Beginning with a soft opening/tasting event on Tuesday, June 6, 2016, Glenwood South's newly re-opened coffee shop and lounge, Cafe Helios, will begin serving a European-inspired dinner menu, featuring lots of small plates and tapas-style bites, under the creative direction of owner Shervin Tahssili, with support from fellow Downtown Raleigh chefs like ORO's Executive Chef Chris Hylton.

Neighbors are invited to stop by on Tuesday to give the new menu a test run and provide feedback to Cafe Helios. Beginning Wednesday, June 8, 2016, the new menu will be served nightly and features selections including, but not limited to:

Tuna Tartar - Tuna, fresh ginger over guacamole served with toasted pita bread - $8

Grilled Octopus - Pesto and tapenade - $8

Vegetarian Gnocchi - Gnocchi Pasta with pesto and sun-dried tomatoes - $6

Lamb Bolognese - Creamy cremini mushroom and parmesan sauce with spaghetti - $8

Mediterranean Platter - Choice of Hummus, or Baba Ganoush, or Stuffed Grape Leaves served with mixed olives and - toasted pita bread - Individual $3 or Choice of Three $7

Artisanal Cheese Plate - Chefs Choice served with caramelized walnuts, grapes and house jam - $12

Charcuterie Platter - Chefs Choice served with caramelized walnuts, grapes and house jam - $12

Cafe Helios is located at 413 Glenwood Avenue in Downtown Raleigh and is open from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday; 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., on Sunday.
