RALEIGH, N.C. — Designed For Joy will be hosting their 2019 Evening of Giving Event on October 3rd, in their brand new HQ at Gateway Plaza. The event will include testimonials from DFJ artisans and special guest speakers as well as a silent online auction, live auction, music by DJ Uniq, beer, wine and heavy appetizers by Chef Mario’s.

This event celebrates supporters – new and established – who believe in DFJ’s impact and mission. Working to build the resumes of women coming out of vulnerable situations, DFJ celebrates two years in business, 29 living wage artisans hired, 3000+ living-wage hours paid and a new, larger studio space to expand their mission.

I'm excited to co-lead the Designed For Joy Evening of Giving celebration as a way to celebrate our supporters and raise awareness of the challenges these women have overcome in their lifetime”, said Morgan Kelly, member of DFJ’s leadership team.

Partnerships have been some of the most vital relationships in DFJ’s growth this past year. They have allowed for the amazing expansion of DFJ’s impact and each relationship brings a new, unique and important perspective to the mission. DFJ most recently welcomed a partnership with The Women’s Center of Raleigh. Brace Boone III, Executive Director of The Women’s Center will be the keynote speaker at the Evening of Giving and is looking forward to sharing all the “good work being done to transform the lives of the most vulnerable women in our community.”

“The Women’s Center is excited to be partnering with Designed for Joy. We have loved sharing our building with DFJ this month as they upsize – they bring a great energy. We are really looking forward to how this partnership will broaden in the year to come. DFJ has been beneficial in so many ways for the women we serve,” concluded Mr. Boone.

The Evening of Giving Event will last from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3rd. Tickets can be purchased on DFJ’s website linked below. Buy a single ticket for $60 or a “couples” ticket for $100 through October 1st. At the door tickets will be priced at $70 or $110 for singles and couples respectively.
