Easter Seals UCP Inaugural Great Glow 5K Run Taking Place on April 28

Unique fundraiser offers runners an entertaining, illuminated, nighttime race to benefit individuals managing disabilities and mental health challenges.

Easter Seals UCP (United Cerebral Palsy) North Carolina & Virginia, a nonprofit serving individuals and families managing disabilities and mental health challenges, is holding an inaugural 5K run at Hugh MacRae Park in Wilmington on Sunday, April 28th. The Great Glow Run is a unique 3.1 mile illuminated evening race starting at 8:30 p.m. and open to participants of all abilities. Family activities, live entertainment and registration starts at 7:30 p.m. and an awards ceremony will follow the race at 9:30 p.m. Runners are also encouraged to wear costumes and be part of the costume contest.

Registration for the Great Glow Run is $30 and can be done online at http://greatglowrun.eventbrite.com/. All event participants receive a Great Glow shirt, timing chip and bib, glow-in-the-dark bracelet and goodie bag filled with sponsored treats.

Runners will run through the dusk aglow in glimmering lights and awesome visual effects, while supporting Easter Seals UCP’s lifelong programs and services that provide support, care and hope to children and adults living with disabilities and mental health challenges in the Wilmington area.
