Ellis & Anthony LLP Hires New Attorney
Elizabeth M. Gillikin Whitworth joins Ellis & Anthony LLP, Attorneys at Law, Wake Forest, as the firm's newest attorney. Whitworth focuses on commercial real estate law, foreclosures, community association law and estate planning.
"Elizabeth has extensive experience in real estate law. She possesses a high level of legal expertise and professionalism," said Neal Ellis, founding partner of Ellis & Anthony. "She personifies the values of knowledge and service that our clients have come to expect."
Whitworth's real estate law experience includes representation of sellers, purchasers, developers, and lenders in diverse commercial and residential real estate transactions, and representation of landlords and tenants in simple to sophisticated leases. She has prepared covenants for local residential and commercial developments and has acted as trustee or the attorney for trustee in numerous commercial and residential foreclosure proceedings.
Prior to joining Ellis & Anthony, Elizabeth was the managing attorney of Gillikin Whitworth Law, PLLC, in Wake Forest. She previously was an associate with Warren, Perry & Anthony, PLLC and has contributed to banking publications that guided compliance for community banks.
Whitworth is a member of the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and the Real Property and Estate Planning sections of the North Carolina Bar Association. She frequently volunteers for local nonprofit organizations, including the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club and Camp Kanata, a YMCA camp. She was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned both her bachelor's and juris doctor degrees. Whitworth currently resides in Wake Forest with her husband and young daughter.
