Hardee’s Teams Up with NC State to Support Wolfpack Club

Bookmark and Share Raleigh, NC - February 21, 2011 -

Hardee’s® will show its support of North Carolina State Athletics and supply one lucky Wolfpack fan with a year’s worth of Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders™ during a special bowling competition at halftime of the NC State vs. UNC game on Wednesday in Raleigh.

The Wolfpack and the Tar Heels will not be the only ones in battle at the RBC Center on Wednesday night. A heated competition will take place at halftime between two NC State students for a chance to win free Hardee’s Chicken Tenders for a year. The two participants will roll a basketball through bowling pins at each end of the court and the individual who knocks down the most pins will receive free Chicken Tenders for a year. The other participant will receive free Chicken Tenders for a week.

In addition, Hardee’s will make a $100 donation to the NC State Student Aid Association, more commonly known as the Wolfpack Club, for each bowling pin that is knocked down by the contestants.

Hardee’s Chicken Tenders are fresh, all white-meat chicken tenders, hand-dipped in eggs and buttermilk and lightly breaded. Introduced to the Hardee’s menu in June, the Chicken Tenders have been an enormous hit across America.

Mike Hancock, executive vice president of Boddie-Noell Enterprises - the largest Hardee’s franchisee in North Carolina as well as the U.S. - and a 1976 NC State graduate, will present the check to a Wolfpack Club representative on-court at halftime. Chicken Tenders originally came to Hardee’s from Boddie-Noell where they were created in the company’s own North Carolina test kitchens.

“Hardee’s was born right here in North Carolina and we couldn’t think of a better way to honor our roots than to support the NC State Wolfpack Club and have some fun with Wolfpack fans,” said Jerry Allsbrook, chief marketing officer for Boddie-Noell Enterprises.

The mission of the Wolfpack Club is to provide private financial support for athletic scholarships and facilities for NC State University. Additionally, the Student Aid Association provides communication and services for all friends of Wolfpack athletics. All of the activities of the Association are done with the highest integrity for academic and athletic excellence and within the guidelines established by the University, the Atlantic Coast Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
