Recently named as the "North Carolina Superintendent of the Year,” Dr. Diane Frost received additional recognition at the Asheboro Board of Education meeting on Thursday, Dec. 8. Phil Kirk, director of Brady Energy Services, and Hank Henning, Brady associate, appeared before the board to present her with a $500 scholarship for an Asheboro High School senior to continue his/her education at Randolph Community College. The scholarship honors Dr. Frost and her many accomplishments in education.

"On behalf of Brady, we wanted to honor Dr. Frost in front of the ‘home folks’ for her recognition as the state's top school superintendent," Kirk said. Praising Dr. Frost as a leader in innovation, creativity and technology, Kirk, chairman emeritus of the State Board of Education, said, “She is admired for her tenacity and support for teachers and staff in the Asheboro City School system.”

The scholarship is in addition to Brady’s sponsorship of The North Carolina Superintendent of the Year program, a joint project of the North Carolina Association of School Administrators and the North Carolina School Boards Association. Brady has been the program sponsor for the past three years.

"Dr. Frost is focused like a laser beam on what is going on in the classroom, knowing that we are all working to increase academic achievement for all students, no matter what their backgrounds might be,” said Kirk. “She recognizes that public education is not only the best hope, but often the only hope, for a brighter future for our students."
