Staff members from Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP, a Triangle-based CPA firm serving the financial management needs of local, multi-state, and international businesses, as well as their owners, donated their time in support of Habitat for Humanity on Friday, September 18th in in observance of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants’ (NCACPA) fourth annual CPA Day of Service.

Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to build safe, affordable houses for qualified homebuyers regardless of race, religion, or background. Each Habitat home is built in partnership with homeowner families, sponsors, and volunteers. HPG CPA’s and staff members spent the day constructing a home in Garner.

“We are pleased to be able to work with such a great organization,” said Adam Buchanan, HPG Tax Partner and board member of Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. “It was a wonderful experience to see the immediate impact we had on a family’s life and we are so grateful to have the opportunity to reinforce our commitment to our community through the Day of Service.”

The goal of CPA Day of Service is to allow members of the accounting profession to show their dedication to the cities and towns in which they live and conduct business, by providing volunteer services to a charitable organization and cause of their choosing. It also highlights the many ways they give back to their communities on a regular basis as servants within their communities and ambassadors of their profession.

The CPA Day of Service is sponsored by the NCACPA. More than 2,000 CPAs and staff members throughout the state were projected to participate in this year’s event.
