After more than 35 years since its founding, Showmars, one of the Carolinas’ most iconic restaurants, is expanding this summer.

“With more than 30 locations already in North and South Carolina, Showmars is excited to introduce its signature and diverse mix of Southern and Greek menu items, coupled with its fast-casual, family-centric concept to the Triangle area,” said Konstantine Zitsos, CEO & President of The Showmars Hospitality Group.

The Showmars Hospitality Group/4 Show, LLC plans to employ more than 50 new team members with its first Triangle-area location. Charlotte-based retail brokerage firm, The Keith Corporation, helped Showmars identify the 3,280 square foot space located at 1009 Stadium Drive, Suite 128, in the Wake Forest Crossing Shopping Center. The new location will offer a menu featuring more than 36 items, including its World’s Best Filet of Flounder, Famous Pita Burgers™ and fresh salads.

Showmars’ has been serving the Carolinas with fresh, made-to-order Greek and Southern staples since 1982, when the founder, George Couchell (affectionately known throughout the Showmars family as Mr. C), opened the doors of his first Charlotte location. Couchell immigrated to the US from Greece and grew up working in his family’s restaurant.

“During the last three decades, Showmars has not only expanded across the Charlotte area and South Carolina, it has evolved into a place that local families know, love and trust,” said Showmars General Partner, Dean Peroulas. “It’s our unique menu items, dedication to exceptional service and comfortable atmosphere that sets Showmars apart.”

The new Wake Forest location will feature several additions and upgrades that the restaurant will be introducing to customers for the first time, like offering a fresh, cooked-to-order, hand-pattied burger. It will also be the first of Showmars’ restaurants to introduce Mini-Meals. This is a menu item that will be available to Showmars’ youngest customers, as well as those with a lighter appetite.

Showmars’ new Wake Forest customers will also be able to order all their favorite items online and through the Showmars app. Local businesses and families looking to entertain larger groups can also take advantage of the restaurant’s catering menu.

Along with serving customers, Showmars is also dedicated to serving the local community. During the last several years, the restaurant group has done extensive work with Levine Children’s Hospital, raising more than $500,000. Showmars has also partnered with Carolina Panthers tight-end, Greg Olsen, and his foundations, Receptions 4 Research and HEARTest Yard.

“Charitable work and community partnerships is the heart and soul of Showmars,” said Zitsos. “We believe we must help each other to build a better, stronger community for everyone, and we’re excited to expand that commitment to the Triangle.”
