Madison County Community Foundation awards local grants

The board of advisors of the Madison County Community Foundation announces local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund, according to Jerry Cody, board president.

This year’s nonprofit recipients include:

• Community Housing Coalition of Madison County

• Junior Achievement – WNC

• Southern Appalachian Raptor Research

Cody thanked the community for its support of the Madison County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Madison County’s community fund.”

The Madison County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. In addition to Cody, board members include: Susan Rector, Larry Burda, Bud Christman, Debbie Davis and Karen Payne.

Tax-deductible contributions can be made to the Community Grantmaking Fund, which is administered by the NCCF. Contributions should be made payable to the Madison County Community Foundation and mailed to the North Carolina Community Foundation, PO Box 401, Mars Hill, NC 28754. Contributions can also be made online at nccommunityfoundation.org.
