(Cary, NC – July 8, 2015)—M/I Homes was recently instrumental in the preservation of one of Cary’s oldest structures. The Franklin House was originally located at the intersection of Walnut Street and Cary Parkway, and was recently moved to preserve its historic value and to make way for the new Pritchett Farm community.

The Franklin House is nearly two-hundred years old and one of Wake County’s architectural jewels. M/I Homes of Raleigh obtained the property in 2014 for single family home development, and donated the Franklin House to CAP (Capital Area Preservation, Inc.) in order to ensure its preservation. M/I Homes was fundamental in the move of the home and the Franklin House has been relocated to Apex where it will be rehabilitated and preserved. In addition, M/I will retain the Franklin family cemetery on site, which has recently been restored.

Pritchett Farm will have two collections of single-family homes and will range in size from 2,500 to 4,100 square feet. A total of 91 homesites make up Pritchett Farm; 60 of which will be traditional, and 31 executive homes. In this community, you will find homesites up to 1/3 acre, wooded, cul-de-sac, and pond/stream views. Some basement opportunities will be available. Construction will begin mid-2015.
