Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Charlotte Litigation Member Robert (Bobby) C. Bowers was elected as Mecklenburg County’s new State Bar Councilor.

“I am honored and humbled to have the privilege of continuing my service to the state and local bar associations as one of Mecklenburg County’s State Bar Councilors. I welcome and embrace the opportunity and will serve with integrity and enthusiasm,” Bowers stated.

All active members of the Mecklenburg County Bar (the 26th Judicial District Bar), as reflected on the official records of the North Carolina State Bar, were invited to participate in the State Bar Council election. The election was held to fill one vacant Council seat that was previously held by District 26’s Mark W. Merritt, who resigned to serve as State Bar Vice President. Bowers will fill the vacancy for the unexpired portion of Merritt’s term through December 31, 2015.

In his role, Bowers will serve alongside fellow District 26 councilors Robert Bernhardt, Todd Brown, Mark Henriques, Fincher Jarrell, Dewitt (Mac) McCarley and Nancy Black Norelli, under the leadership of State Bar President Ron Gibson who is also from District 26.
