NC Community Foundation announces director of community leadership

The North Carolina Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Sally Migliore has been named director of community leadership, according to Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NCCF CEO and president.

Migliore will lead and coordinate a statewide team of professionals in all aspects of affiliate and donor services, scholarships and grantmaking. She will work out of the NCCF’s headquarters office in Raleigh.

The director of community leadership is a new NCCF position created to help leverage the statewide network of affiliates as effective advocates for philanthropy in their respective communities, according to Whiteside. “Our affiliate partners throughout the state are our most important resource for helping to empower and strengthen local communities,” she said. “We’re delighted that we were able to attract someone with Sally’s experience in community and leadership development to help support our affiliate boards and work with donors and the community grants and scholarship programs.”

Migliore joins NCCF after an extensive career in nonprofit development and leadership, most recently as director for collaboration and training at the NC Center for Nonprofits. She is a former executive director for the National Society for Experiential Education and has served

as a consultant for a number of nonprofit and government initiatives. She has a master’s degree from NC State University and a bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. She serves on the research committee of the Institute for Nonprofit Research, Education and Engagement and is a former member of the Leadership Council of Nonprofit Voter Engagement Network.
