New York Ad Exec Tim Dillingham Joins Saturday Brand Communications in Charlotte As Creative Director
Tim Dillingham, who has helped imagine and develop some of the nation’s most memorable ad campaigns during a career spanning more than 20 years, has joined Saturday Brand Communications as creative director.
Dillingham was most recently SVP, Senior Creative Director with McCann-Erickson, a global agency known for creating iconic advertising. Dillingham worked on the MasterCard “Priceless” campaign, including two commercials that aired during the Super Bowl. (Remember the one with Homer Simpson, running errands and paying efficiently with MasterCard so he could “spend more time with his family” at the local bar? ESPN.com named it a Top Ten spot.)
Dillingham’s other national accounts have included Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Mobil 1 and three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, Verizon Wireless, and Goodyear. His campaign for the Ad Council on small steps to be healthy earned an AICP award from the Association of Independent Commercial Producers. Another favorite commercial he created featured Mr. Bill of Saturday Night Live fame.
At Saturday, Dillingham will work closely with Executive Creative Director James Ward. “We hired Tim for two reasons. The first reason is he has a world-class creative portfolio that happens to include one of my all-time favorite TV spots. His body of work is exactly what Saturday is about -- memorable, creative and effective,” Ward says. “The second reason is you could not meet a nicer, more humble, even-keeled guy. I’m thrilled to be partnering up with Tim as a creative team. I think we're going to be doing a lot of great things for our clients."
Dillingham was attracted to Saturday for its philosophy of giving clients not just what they want, but what they need to bring in new business, spread their message, and establish their brand as the preferred one in the market. “I was drawn to Saturday’s great clients, including NoDa Brewing Company and Brixx Pizza, and the agency’s creative focus,” he says.
